  2. It should be noted that the actual in-cavity hold-off ratio for this type of modulator is limited to about 25:1 by virtue of the reflection from the surface nearest the laser rod. This ratio has proven to be more than adequate for all Nd:YAG and Nd:Glass Q-switching experiments.
