Multimode Waveguide: A Low Pass Filter

Abstract

It is shown in this paper that a multimode waveguide—represented by a ray model—acts like a low-pass filter with respect to the modulation. The response function is calculated and discussed in the case of an ideal, straightlined, loss-free system.
