Wavelength precision of a Cary model 14R spectrophotometer

Abstract

The precision of wavelength measurements made with a Cary model 14R spectrophotometer was determined using the Dβ line of the deuterium lamp of the instrument as a standard. The wavelength of the line as measured by the instrument was found to depend upon the manner in which the instrument was operated.
