Abstract

The so-called half-filter method for calibrating photographic plates is theoretically one of the most reliable among those published. Several numerical processes have been proposed to implement its practical realization. We have tested some of them and have found that they were not effective in certain cases. In our effort to avoid these failures we present in this paper two alternative numerical processes which have worked satisfactorily in all the cases essayed.
