Abstract

A new and simple method for microscopic analysis of phase objects is proposed and demonstrated. The method, based on moire ray deflection analysis (deflectometry), combines the simplicity and low cost of schlieren microscopy with certain quantitative aspects of interference microscopy. This new method has several advantages in flexibility and ease of use and interpretation.
