High bandwidth triple product processor using a shearing interferometer

Abstract

A simple triple product processor architecture is proposed which circumvents the bandwidth limitation encountered in the standard configurations without resorting to a Mach-Zehnder implementation. While the proposed architecture seems limited by the requirement that two inputs be the same, it is shown that this restriction may be relaxed at the expense of bandwidth and resolution. Results from a laboratory realization demonstrate a bandwidth of 400-MHz.
