Abstract
We report the first application of a cross-beam polarization spectrometry technique with a pulsed dye laser in flames. Saturation, curve of growth, and dependence of the polarization signal on the crossing angle between the probe and pump beams have been experimentally investigated. The results indicate that polarization spectroscopy is a promising technique in the area of combustion diagnostics.
