Abstract

An optical fiber ring resonatory sensor system has been demonstrated by applying a triangular phase modulation signal to a fiber loop. The dynamic range for detection of optical phase change is 2π. The sensor is linear within this range. The minimum detectable optical phase change is 1.5 × 10−4 rad/Hz1/2.
