Abstract
In identical cutting conditions, it has been shown that the surface quality of ultraprecisely machined oxygen-free high-conductance copper samples, for which a single-point diamond tool is used, depends on the microstructure and properties of the materials, as well as the processing sequence. It has been found that samples subjected to cold deformation–recrystallization annealing have the best surface quality after being diamond turned. In addition, crystal uniformity and the processing sequence affect the roughness and residual stress of the finished surface.
