Infrared optical constants of polycrystalline boron nitride: comment

Abstract

In contrast to statements in a recent article by M. Khelkhal and F. Herlemont [Appl. Opt. 32, 57–59 (1993)], it is pointed out that well-documented IR data exist for boron nitride in both the cubic and hexagonal phases. Furthermore, the existence of a strong reststrahlen band causes a significant dispersion over the wavelength region of 1–10 μm.
