2011 Journal Citation Reports® Data for OSA Journals

OSA is proud that its collection of 15 flagship, partnered and co-published peer-reviewed journals continues to provide the most citations (41%) and articles (35%) in the field of optics and photonics, according to 2011 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) ® (Thomson Reuters, 2012). Of the 77 journals listed in the Optics category, eight OSA Journals are included in the top 25 titles.

The JCR includes an Eigenfactor™ Score for each journal. OSA's Optics Express, Optics Letters and Applied Optics are among the top five journals in the Optics category based on Eigenfactor. The Eigenfactor calculates the number of times articles from the journal published in the past five years has been cited in the JCR year while considering which journals have contributed to these citations. Citations from one article in a journal to another article from the same journal are removed; therefore Eigenfactor scores are not influenced by self-citation.
