Abstract
The realization of the great potential of high resolution NMR in the elucidation of molecular structure has been accompanied by considerable progress towards overcoming its relative lack of sensitivity. The need to record the spectra of the individual components of mixtures and of samples available in very small quantities has led to the utilization of the gas chromatograph in conjunction with NMR, to development of microcells for the optimum use of available samples, and to the use of computers to improve signal-to-noise ratio.
