Abstract

I thank your editor and the members of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy for this opportunity to better acquaint you with the AIP Information Program, particularly the development of a National Information System for Physics. The Program is a response to the growing problems which you and members of other affiliated and member societies of AIP encounter in identifying, locating, and reviewing research literature pertinent to your areas of endeavor. Your information problems and requirements are a prime concern to us in the development of effective, viable information services.
