Abstract

A carrier-distillation dc arc emission spectrographic procedure is described for the determination of 0.5 to 20 ppm of lead, bismuth, and tin in nickel-base alloys. After conversion to an oxide, the sample is mixed with AgCl–LiF carrier and excited with 12 A current for 33 sec. Nickel oxide synthetic standards may be used. The coefficients of variation are less than 10%
