Abstract

Fourier transform data filtering is applied to video fluorometric data. Minimum mean square error analysis is used to evaluate the effectiveness of various smoothing filters applied to noisy spectra of perylene. The equivalent width criteria for predicting the optimum filter radii in two dimensions are tested. Image sharpening of poorly resolved data is also demonstrated. The use of data filtering to aid in the visual interpretation of HPLC/VF data is demonstrated.
