Abstract
The versatility and day-in day-out performance of the atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) has made it a standard instrument for elemental analysis in nearly all analytical chemistry laboratories. A plethora of review articles exist on this subject (please see Refs. 1-5 and references therein). The application of atomic absorption to analysis of minor and trace constituents in nuclear applications where radiological contamination is a concern is also noted, although less so than more standard applications.
