Spectroscopic Monitoring of High Pressure Effects on Trioxane

Abstract

Infrared spectroscopy and optical microscopy techniques have been used to prove a solid–solid phase transition in trioxane under high pressure. Spectral data indicate that a change in molecular conformation from C<sub>3<i>v</i></sub> to D<sub>3<i>h</i></sub> may also be involved.
