Abstract

A device which was used together with a Varian Techtron AA5 monochromator to accomplish repetitive scanning over a small wavelength interval is described. The system was used to determine the reversal point of the sodium 589 nm line in flames and can also be used for background correction in emission and absorption spectrometry.
