Abstract
A method for the radiometric correction of Raman spectra over a wide frequency range utilizing a standard lamp and a microprocessor data system is described. The spectral irradiance factors of the standard lamp are entered into the data system, and the lamp spectrum is run and divided by the irradiances to generate correction factors. These factors are then applied to the data. The effects of different excitation frequencies, slit widths, sample size and state, and collection optics are discussed. The estimated error in the corrected data is ±5% over the frequency range of 21 839 to 17 000 cm<sup>−1</sup>.
