Abstract

A very important factor influencing the performance of an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer is the plasma torch, which has been the subject of considerable experimentation by many workers. Almost all plasma torches using argon as the plasma and cooling gases require total gas flows in the range of 15 to 20 liters min−1.
