Abstract

The dispersion relationships between absorption bands and refractive index dispersion allow measurement of spectra in either domain. Absorption spectroscopy techniques have, in general, been far more advanced. However, recent techniques such as asymmetric Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the possibility of combining tunable lasers with refractometers make very high quality spectrorefractometry possible.
