High-temperature Raman Spectra of CO2 and H2O for Combustion Diagnostics

Abstract

The Raman spectra of CO<sub>2</sub> and H<sub>2</sub>O have been measured from 1000 to 2200°K. The spectra are found to be well described by the simple models described previously. In particular, the simple partition functions of T<sup>−1</sup> for CO<sub>2</sub> and T<sup>−3/2</sup> for H<sub>2</sub>O are adequate for describing the spectra over the temperature range of interest.
