Abstract
Since the SERS effect of pyridine adsorbed on a rough silver electrode was found in 1974, many physicists and chemists have done a lot of work in SERS. In addition to silver electrodes, other systems have also been chosen for SERS experiments. On the other hand, other molecules or ions have been selected for SERS experiments, and many kinds of molecules and ions have been found to have the SERS effect. On the basis of experimental results, several kinds of theories concerning the SERS effect have been proposed. We have identified the SERS effect of CO32- in silver sol and find that it is different from other common effects.
