Cellular Imaging of the RetinaAccepting Submissions: 1 January 2011Submission Deadline: 1 March 2011 |
Original articles related to the theme of cellular imaging of the retina (with an emphasis on in vivo imaging) are invited on range of topics including but not limited to the following:
- New instrumentation for cellular resolution retinal imaging
- Processing and analysis of retinal images
- Functional imaging of the retina
- High-resolution retinal imaging in animal models
- Clinical applications of high-resolution retinal imaging
The feature issues will be published in the new journal Biomedical Optics Express, OSA’s principal outlet serving the biomedical optics community, featuring rapid, open-access publication of content related to optics, photonics and imaging in the life sciences. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that use the special features of Biomedical Optics Express that are particularly germane to the biomedical content, such as inclusion of color figures, movies, and interactive science publishing (http://www.opticsinfobase.org/isp.cfm).
Manuscripts must be prepared according to the usual standards for submission to Biomedical Optics Express and must be uploaded through OSA’s electronic-submission system (http://www.opticsinfobase.org/boe.cfm). When submitting, please specify that the manuscript is for the Cellular Imaging of the Retina feature issue. Publication charges are waived for Biomedical Optics Express articles during the first year of publication, including articles submitted for this feature issue.
