OSA is pleased to announce the posting of its inaugural ISP (Interactive Science Publishing) articles in Optics Express. "ISP" represents a new direction for OSA publications. The ISP articles, which appear in OSA journals, link out to large 2D and 3D datasets—such as a CT scan of the human chest—that can be viewed interactively with special software developed by OSA in cooperation with Kitware, Inc., and the National Library of Medicine.

How to Read an OSA ISP Article
To try the ISP system, first find a Windows or Mac system. We recommend at least 1.5 GB of RAM for best performance. Then go to this web page to download and install the software (you will need to obtain the latest version):
Then go to this web page to download an open-access, ISP-enabled paper in PDF format (use Acrobat version 7.0 or later):Open the paper and read it. When you see links to "View 1," View 2," etc., click on them. After you answer your system's security questions, ISP should launch and begin to display the data in the publication. Having trouble reading or navigating an ISP? See the ISP FAQ page.If you would like to browse the paper's full collection of data, go to this site and explore the Optics Express issue:
