In-Plane Switching Technology for Liquid Crystal Display Television

Abstract
In-plane switching (IPS) technology used for liquid crystal display (LCD) TV is reviewed. Requirements of HD TV application are listed, and the main performances are compared among various competing display technologies. IPS LCD mode shows superior performances, satisfying the requirement for HD TV application.
