Abstract
Phase-only holographic projection offers a number of advantages over conventional imaging projection technology. Despite the advances in image quality provided by multiple subframe approaches, however, the use of binary phase holograms fundamentally limits the achievable resultant image contrast ratio. In this paper, a FPGA implementation of a real-time parallelized error diffusion algorithm is presented as a practical solution to this problem.
