Abstract
With the publication of this issue, JON begins its second year as a fully peer-reviewed source of high-quality scientific and engineering articles describing the state-of-the-art of optical networking. In his Editorial, editor-in-chief Richard A. Linke examines where the field of optical networking stands and how JON is doing in fulfilling its mission.
