New: Journal of Optical Communications and Networking (JOCN)
Author Instructions
There has been an exciting development for JON. OSA and IEEE have agreed to a copublishing partnership that merges JON with ComSoc's Supplement on Optical Networking and Communications, which is published with the Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. The new journal is called the Journal of Optical Communications and Networking (JOCN) and will be accessible through OSA's Optics InfoBase as well as IEEE Xplore and ComSoc's Digital Library, thus providing expanded exposure for JOCN authors. See the JON/JOCN About page for more information on JOCN.
Authors of the new Journal of Optical Communications and Networking (JOCN) should follow instructions on this page for preparing and submitting an article.
The following templates and manuscript-preparation guidelines should be used. Note that IEEE will produce JOCN articles:
- MS Word Template and Instructions on How to Create Your Paper (DOC, 92KB)
- WIN and MAC Bibliography File (ZIP, 208 KB)
- Unix LaTeX2e Transactions Style File (TAR.GZ, 204 KB)
- WIN OR MAC LaTeX2e Transactions Style File (ZIP, 348 KB)
- Unix Bibliography File (TAR.GZ, 204 KB)
- Use of LaTeX or MS Word is acceptable for manuscript preparation. Please see the guidelines above.
Manuscripts should be submitted to OSA through the OSA JOCN author page. OSA will manage the peer-review process for JOCN.
- JON and JOCN authors can log in to OSA's peer-review system to submit a manuscript or check manuscript status (see login link below).
- General information for authors is available on the Optics InfoBase author page.
- At the time of submission please identify your paper as either (1) Architectural and theoretic system designs or (2) Experimental systems.
