Abstract

Perforated and mesh screens were examined for suitability as spectrophotometric absorption standards. Screens give consistent readings with large-beam spectrophotometers, but they are sensitive to handling, and they lack adequate range. The absorbance decreases at shorter wavelength. For general use, they are inferior to appropriate glass-filter standards.
