Changing the quality factor of a laser with a glass plate

Abstract
A scheme is described for changing the quality factor of a laser cavity by rotating a glass plate around the laser axis. In order to check the setup, the output power of a laser is measured, and good agreement is obtained with the semi-classical laser theory.
