Modification of the Rayleigh–Debye approximation

Abstract

A modification of the Rayleigh–Debye approximation is given in two ways so that it includes the information of the refractive index of scatterers in the calculation of scattering patterns. The improvement that is due to the modification is demonstrated by comparing the approximation with the exact Mie calculation.
