In our previous reports on the optical constants of potassium and of sodium, comparisons were made between the constants as derived from our experimental work, and those calculated from the theory of metallic dispersion as developed by Kronig (R. deL. Kronig, Proc. Roy. Soc. A133, 255 (1931)). Agreement between experimental and theoretical values, which was good for sodium and fair for potassium, was poor for rubidium and worse for cesium.
