Abstract

Starting with an elementary consideration of two equally bright colors just distinguishable as to chromaticity, and introducing Fechner’s law, Silberstein has developed expressions intended to define the properties of a “color domain obeying Fechner’s law.” It is shown, however, that Silberstein’s method of introducing Fechner’s law is inconsistent with his initial assumptions, and that the resulting expressions disagree fundamentally with experimental data.
