Spectral Variations of the Intermittency Effect for Some Panchromatic Plates

Abstract

Experiments have been made to determine the response of photographic panchromatic emulsions to light flashes lasting only a few microseconds. Previous experiences of other workers and general photographic theory tended to show that the spectral response of plates should show no intermittency effect, i.e., should be the same for short flashes of light and for steady illumination. This was found not to be so and experimental data are provided.
