Abstract
A study of the variation of pupil diameter with illumination of the retina indicates that the photo-pupil reflex is confined to the photopic range of illumination. On the basis of this result, the hypothesis is proposed that the photo-pupil reflex is essentially initiated by cone response. Suggestions are made for further investigation.
