Abstract

An attachment to the Beckman quartz spectrophotometer modified with a multiplier photocell is described which, by utilizing surface illumination of the sample at close to grazing incidence, makes possible the measurement of fluorescence spectra of highly light absorbing materials. Different monochromatic sources can be used for excitation. The apparatus is also suitable for light scattering measurements.
