Abstract

While the illuminating and viewing conditions in the Hardy-General Electric recording spectrophotometer seem to have advantages in the measurement of textiles, they do not give results in accord with ordinary experience in the measurement of some other kinds of sample, particularly glossy and semiglossy paints. This paper is intended to document this assertion further by an analysis of recent British measurements on paint samples.
