Decay of Phosphorescence with Activators and Traps Arising from the Same Impurity in Different Valency States

Abstract

The decay of phosphorescence which arises from presence of conduction electrons, activators, and traps is investigated, assuming that the same impurities may either lose an electron, leaving an empty activator, or gain an electron, becoming a filled trap. In particular, the case of negligible contribution by conduction to space charge is treated.
