Abstract
The theory of formation and localization of multiple beam interference fringes formed by a cylindrically curved interferometer enclosing a refracting medium in transmission and at reflection is given. The effect of varying the refractive index of enclosed medium on localization is considered. The resulting interference system formed by cylindrically curved doubly silvered phlogopite mica sheets in transmission is obtained and discussed. Its formation and localization are in accordance with theory.
