Use of a Digital Computer for the Calculation of Aberration Coefficients

Abstract

A scheme has been published which enables the computation of the aberration coefficients of axially symmetrical optical systems, up to and including the seventh order, using a desk calculating machine. The present paper describes the design and performance of a program for a particular digital computer based on this scheme.
