Abstract

The Price-Robinson analysis of reflectivity data, determined at one angle of incidence only, has been critically examined. By comparison of calculated spectra with theoretically generated data the analysis has been shown to give absorption frequencies and oscillator strengths of the same order of accuracy as would be obtained in low-resolution absorption experiments.
