Abstract

Friele has published a set of formulas based on an analysis of experimental color metric coefficients published by Brown and MacAdam. These formulas permit the direct computation of color metric coefficients that may be satisfactory for many uses. The results are here compared with the original experimental data. Contour diagrams showing the dependence of the Friele metric coefficients, g11, g12, and g22, on chromaticity are presented for comparison with the corresponding diagrams published by MacAdam in 1943, which are used for many applications.
