Abstract
Relative intensities of a number of lines from the fourth, fifth, and sixth spectra of aluminum in the region from 125 to 315 Å, measured earlier with Eastman SWR plates, have been remeasured with both a Bendix multiplier and a sodium salicylate-coated 1P21 multiplier. All three detectors give nearly equivalent results down to about 250 Å but at shorter wavelengths the response of the SWR emulsion falls off more than twice as much as either of the multipliers. When appropriate precautions are taken to reduce the background radiation, either multiplier can be used in this region although the sodium salicylate appears to be more consistent.
