Abstract
The room-temperature infrared reflectance of MgO has been remeasured. The reliability of the difficult minimum-reflectance-region remeasurements is such that the Kramers–Kronig output values of the absorption index are in good agreement with the experimental values in the high-frequency shoulder region. The experimentally obtained low-reflectance values also agree well with calculated values based on the partitioning technique of Wu and Andermann.
