Surface-Plasmon Effect in the Reflectance of a Metal

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

The decrease of reflectance of a thick metal sample for a photon that is incident normally on a rough surface and which creates a surface plasmon is computed from first-order perturbation theory. The metal is approximated by a bounded free-electron gas, and the dispersive properties of the surface collective mode are accounted for in the result.
