Abstract

The strengths and self-broadening parameters for lines in the R branch of the ν3 fundamental of N2O have been measured for gas samples at 300 and 204 K. The results indicate that the collision cross sections at the two temperatures are nearly the same. Differences between values for total band strength of v3 based on the present high-resolution measurements and values based on earlier low-resolution studies are discussed. The results obtained for self-broadening parameters are in excellent agreement with recent results of Toth and Margolis.
