The effect of source temporal coherence on light scintillations in weak turbulence

Abstract

It is shown that, in turbulence, the irradiance scintillations of a partially-coherent light source decrease as the source bandwidth is increased. Explicit results are given for the cases when the turbulence is weak and very strong.
