Abstract
Doppler-broadened spectral line profiles have been calculated for a thermal radiator in the form of a rotating ring. The results indicate that as the directed macroscopic velocity increases relative to the characteristic random thermal velocity, the profile develops two symmetrically shifted peaks with a minimum at line center.
