Formation of images using fan-beam scanning and noncircular source motion

Abstract

Filtered fan-beam back-projection equations are derived for developing images of the distribution of inhomogeneities in heterogeneous matter when the fan-beam source traverses a noncircular path. Several illustrative examples of this generalization of image forming in computerized tomography are provided.
